Introduction[]

Baggage bay is a type of building in Airport CEO and part of your Baggage system. It used to load and unload bags from your baggage belt system to baggage trucks and from baggage trucks to your belt system.

Staffing[]

A baggage bay can be staffed with anywhere from 2 - 16 ramp agents (1-8 per side). These ramp agents load and unload the bags, so increasing the amount of agents will increase the speed of load/unloading.

Required Design[]

The bay has multiple locations where service roads must be placed around it for the baggage bay to function. There are two sides to the bay, an departures and arrivals side. Baggage Trucks will drop the bags on your arrivals side, where the baggage conveyor to baggage claim must but connected. They will pick up departing baggage on the opposite side, where your screened (safe) baggage conveyor should connect.

Optional Tip[]

Baggage bays can cause traffic jams as baggage trucks are long and can block the road when multiple vehicles want to enter the bay at the same time. It's good to build the bay a bit further from the main service road to leave room for waiting vehicles to queue while earlier trucks finish unloading and loading.

Connections[]

Check-in Desks[]

Check-in desks that accept baggage have to be connected to a baggage bay to function, which can be done through the check-in desk UI.

Stands[]

Stands/Helipads that accept baggage have to be connected to a baggage bay to function, which can be done through the stand UI. This connection and the check-in desk connection determine which desks can be used for check-in to which flights.

Point System[]

To limit the amount of stands/helipads that can use a baggage bay (for realism and balance purposes), there is a point system in place. A baggage bay can be assigned to 12 "points" worth of stands.

Max Number of Stands Attachable Point Worth of Stand
Small Stands 12 1 Point
Medium Stands 8 1.5 Points
Large Stands 6 2 Points
Small Helipads 12 1 Points
Medium Helipads 8 1.5 Points

Baggage Claim[]

The baggage claim room must be connected to a baggage bay for it to function, and this connection determines where arriving bags will go to be picked up by passengers.
