Remote Stands[ | ]
Remote stands were added in the One Year Anniversary update and can allow commercial flights to not be next to the terminal.
Creating a Remote Stand[ | ]
- Place a stand (any size, type, etc) away from any terminals.
- Connect with service road to normal utilities and terminal exit with boarding desk. Connect the taxiways and runway(s) as usual.
- At terminal exit, place a shuttle bus stop and connect it to the stand. Note: You do not need a shuttle bus stop at the stands, the bus will park in the stand, much like other service vehicles
- Place a Service Car Stop next to the terminal, and connect it to the stand as well. These are required so that ramp agents can get to the stand for turnaround services. Make sure the service car stop is connected to a security zone from which the ramp agent can reach it.
- In Vehicles -> Procurement, purchase an airside shuttle bus and service car. Ensure you have a vehicle depot/parking lot for this.
- If it is a medium or larger stand, do not forget a pushback and stairway vehicle!
- You now have a remote stand ready!
TIP: Flights scheduled at remote stands will be given 45 extra minutes in the flight planner, to account for added travel times.
